Is that Jack Harlow? No! It is our resident fashionista, Mr. Graymond Ward. When asked about his fashion sense, Ward simply said, “During the lockdown, everything was weird. You could try on different things, and no one would care. No one gives a crap about what you wear or do.”
Mr. Ward also loves to wear pink & pearls and particularly likes spirit weeks. When asked for three words to describe his fashion sense, Ward stated: “All thrift stores.” Wonder if he has ever heard the song “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. I found the lyrics “What? What? What? What?” particularly inspiring.
Mr. Ward is not the only one who admires his fashion sense. Students have taken note of some of his other outfits, such as a bear onesie during a cold day. When asked, Junior Maddy Jordan remarked that Mr. Ward’s fashion and outfits “never fails to surprise me.” Mr. Ward can also be seen on various occasions sporting a signature neon jacket with green, blue, white, and pink that is recognizable almost anywhere. He can also be seen wearing various hats (not inside the school, of course), all of which show his iconic character.
Students are not the only members of the Broughton community that have noticed Mr. Ward’s style. Profe Daratony is a member of the faculty who has taken note of it. Daratony said, “I think he’s bold, funny, and stylish.” Daratony is a Spanish teacher, who has talked to Mr. Ward on numerous occasions, and said that his style is not the only thing notable about this math teacher. Daratony told the HiTimes that “He’s one of my favorite teachers”.
Jan. 17, 2024, was the Wednesday that many of the faculty and students wore pink to support Broughton’s annual Play4Kay basketball event. This was the Wednesday before the quad night against Sanderson at home. Anyone walking through the first-floor math hallway that day, or really any day, can see Mr. Ward’s notoriously chic outfits. Ward’s outfit from Jan. 17th can be seen below:
